From the SuperintendentUpdates on Recent Issues in the District, December 30, 2008I would like to take this opportunity to update you on two recent issues that have been a cause for concern at some of our schools. I feel it is important to provide you with information that is accurate so as to curtail any rumors regarding these recent incidents. For more information on the bomb threat that occurred at GHS prior to the December break and on the recent laptop computer thefts, please link below. New High School Design Proposals InvestigatedDecember 29, 2008: The Board of Education has voted to move forward for further investigation a proposal for a new high school facility that will incorporate the 1998 addition into its overall design. The Board hopes to significantly reduce the original $112 million estimate for a new school with this revised design plan. New designs and cost estimates will be presented to the Board in January 2009. Proposed 2009-2010 School CalendarThe Board of Education will be receiving the proposed 2009-10 school calendar at its December 8 meeting.
